Stanley is an iconic brand, well-known for their high-quality, sustainable drink containers, and original green thermos. They’ve been going viral on social media and have doubled sales in the past two years. Now, they’re solidifying ongoing growth with a focus on innovation and sustainability. With further expected expansion in Europe, the Amsterdam team will attract an experienced HR Business Partner of EMEA.

About Stanley

Stanley was founded in 1913 and until 2020, the brand was mostly known for its green stainless-steel thermos bottle. Now, they have become an increasingly popular brand revolutionizing the international food and beverage culture, doubling their business in the past two years.

This rapid growth was partially catalyzed by coincidental opportunities for the brand to show off their products’ superior quality and convenience. This happened through a viral video after their forty ounce bottle survived a car fire — with the drink inside still cool — as well as on- and offline word-of-mouth. To solidify this fast growth in brand recognition and sales, Stanley has focused on its core strengths: innovation and sustainability.

Stanley continues to produce new products and ways to connect with consumers and customers worldwide. New, vibrant, colorful products have successfully tapped into a younger consumer segment. People are also increasingly interested in Stanley for its sustainability mission: to build products that last a lifetime, made from recycled materials and delivered in paper packaging.

They are headquartered in Seattle, with a commercial team of around fifteen people in Amsterdam. The Stanley group is a standalone business unit under HAVI, a global, privately owned sustainable supply chain management company that employs more than 10,000 people and serves customers in more than one hundred countries. Besides their Seattle HQ and Amsterdam offices, Stanley has locations in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Rio de Janeiro, Cariacica, Manaus, and Manila.

With expected ongoing growth in the EMEA region, both in business and people, the Amsterdam team is creating a new role for an experienced HR Business Partner for EMEA.

Vacancy: HR Business Partner EMEA

The HR Business Partner will develop the HR function within the EMEA region, working with EMEA managers, and support people strategies and initiatives in the region. They will provide counsel in a wide range of areas including talent acquisition and recruitment, performance management, compensation, employee engagement, organizational design, talent management, and organizational change.

Considering the steep growth trajectory of the company, an important part of this key position will be to support managers by driving the recruiting process across the entire region. This role is strategic and advisory, as well as hands-on and operational. The HR Business Partner will collaborate with other regional business partners and report directly to the Director of People. They will implement global HR strategies locally, while gathering quantitative and qualitative insights on the ground and reporting back to HQ with input and advice. Based in the Amsterdam offices, this role will work with the HR Business Partners in other regions to share best practices and create plans to support the needs of Stanley’s global workforce.

Additionally, they will help manage real estate and office management tasks for regional locations. This includes coordinating facilities issues with building management, vendors and services to ensure all offices’ environmental and infrastructure aspects are in perfect condition, and ensuring usability and engagement.

This role requires a great communicator, pragmatic as well as sensitive; and able to navigate through different departments. They should be a good listener who can offer perspectives for managers, as well as address HQ issues.

This is an exciting challenge for an HR professional who is ready to take the next step, and wants to build an HR function in a rapidly growing region. It’s an opportunity to make their mark on the development of a sustainable company that’s undergoing an exciting period of change and global growth.
