As part of ING’s Global Capital Markets & Advisory division, ING CI operates alongside comprehensive advisory services such as Mergers & Acquisitions, Debt Advisory, and global capital markets expertise in Equity Capital Markets, Debt Capital Markets, Loan Distribution, and Securitization. Vacancy: Investments Director – CI Equity team

The Investment Director will be a key driver of ING Corporate Investments’ ambitious growth plan to triple its Assets Under Management to 1.5 billion euros and further strengthen its position as a leading minority investor in the Benelux (lower) mid-market. This influential role will drive high-quality investments, leveraging ING’s proprietary deal flow and reputation to deliver tailored, impactful solutions for clients. Focused on creating long-term value, the Investment Director will be instrumental in driving growth, fostering partnerships, and positioning ING CI as the go-to investment partner for transformational opportunities and co-investments.

Reporting directly to Corstiaan Withagen, Head of Corporate Investments Equity, this role is central to the close-knit Equity team of 6 senior FTEs, operating under a collaborative, partner-like structure. The Investment Director works closely with a dynamic mix of (Managing) Directors and cross-functional teams from other ING divisions. Additionally, they partner with external private equity firms as co-investor and with entrepreneurs, leading strategic transactions and ensuring alignment with investors. Acting as a bridge between ING CI and portfolio companies, they foster collaboration and drive value creation. As a trusted advisor, they provide strategic guidance and support key initiatives, including post-transaction involvement, buy-and-build strategies, operational improvements, key decision-making, and other portfolio management activities.

Leading the investment cycle
The Investment Director will lead the full investment cycle, from sourcing high-quality opportunities through their network and market insights to structuring and executing minority equity investments, ranging from 5 to 30 million euros. Taking the lead on deal origination, they will identify and manage opportunities across key sectors such as healthcare and technology. They will navigate complex transactions, ensuring alignment with stakeholders while strengthening ING CI’s market position and long-term growth.

This strategic leadership role demands a highly collaborative leadership style, ensuring alignment with other ING teams, external partners, and internal stakeholders such as CI’s investment committee.
