About NX Filtration

Water scarcity and contamination are threatening communities worldwide, and they require innovative solutions. NX Filtration’s hollow fiber nanofiltration, ultrafiltration, and microfiltration membranes selectively remove pollutants from polluted water, including micropollutants, antibiotics, bacteria, and viruses. NX Filtration serves global drinking water and wastewater utilities, as well as industrial customers, for example in the treatment and reuse of process water.

Starting out as a spin-off from the University of Twente, NX Filtration has grown into a global membrane partner for treating water and filtering beverages. The company still works closely with its research partners. Listed on Euronext Amsterdam since 2021, NX Filtration combines public market discipline with the long-term backing of investment firm Infestos, which holds a majority stake. For the coming years, the company’s expanding OEM customer pipeline is expected to fuel an average annual revenue growth of around fifty percent

NX Filtration’s head office and production facilities have recently moved to a new large-scale site in Hengelo, bringing membrane manufacturing, module assembly, the head office, and innovation department together in one location. Of the 170 employees, about forty work in commercial roles across global locations.

Vacancy:Chief of Staff to the CEO

The Chief of Staff is the strategic architect behind NX Filtration’s commercial expansion. Reporting directly to the CEO, they translate the growth ambition of at least fifty percent per year into a clear, focused agenda: which markets to prioritize, which partnerships to deepen, and how to further professionalize and scale the sales organization. By linking strategy, data, and execution, they accelerate the go-to-market approach and turn commercial potential into measurable results.

Day to day, the Chief of Staff turns that agenda into operational reality. For example, they might help determine how to expand NX Filtration’s presence at a large existing utility customer and prepare the senior leadership and sales meetings that follow. They orchestrate input from Operations, R&D, Sales, and Finance, structuring insights into a clear story and materials that facilitate decision-making at board level. Based in the head office in Hengelo, they focus on the strategic topics that will move NX Filtration forward most, including shaping the commercial strategy, approach, and processes to shorten sales cycles and scale successful systems across regions.

The Chief of Staff also plays a key role in the cultural transformation of the business. This role offers a rare vantage point in a PE-backed, listed scale-up. The Chief of Staff works side by side with the CEO, seeing from close range how value is created, how strategic choices are made, and how a company scales internationally. On their end, they bring analytical rigor and a pragmatic mindset to help structure complex growth questions and take ownership of implementing well-founded plans. They bring focus and calm to a rapidly evolving environment and work confidently with senior stakeholders.

The position is explicitly designed as a stepping stone into the growing organization. After three years, the Chief of Staff is expected to move into a senior director role – for example, as Sales Director – and lead part of the business. It is a unique opportunity for a strategy consultant who wants their work to matter: building the commercial foundation of a future market leader, accelerating their own path to commercial leadership, and contributing to a mission that reaches far beyond boardrooms.
