About Battolyser Systems
Battolyser Systems was founded in 2018 after the world’s first integrated battery and electrolyser system — the Battolyser — was invented. It stores and supplies surplus wind and solar energy as a battery. Once fully charged, it automatically divides water into hydrogen and oxygen as an electrolyser.
Battolyser Systems is an original equipment manufacturer that develops and produces Battolysers. Since hiring their first employee eighteen months ago, they have achieved several key milestones. They built a pilot Battolyser unit, secured a commercial sales contract with a major energy company, raised new funding, and grown the team to fifty people worldwide. Recently, Battolyser Systems and the Port of Rotterdam announced their partnership to build the first gigawatt Battolyser factory in The Netherlands.

Battolyser’s clients are major international energy companies and industrials. They have a very diverse, international workforce; about half of the employees are not Dutch. Their work-hard/play-hard culture is driven by their mission to provide ‘Always Clean Energy’ for the world. The Strategy and Growth team is made up of highly-experienced strategy consultants, data scientists, a start-up funding specialist and a product strategist.
Vacancy: Strategy Lead
The Strategy Lead will create and deliver Battolyser Systems’ strategy; its ambitious growth plan to scale up fast. In five years they expect to grow revenues up to one billion euros, expand the organization tenfold, and help society reduce more than ten million tons of CO2.
Many urgent challenges and opportunities are expected with this growth plan. That’s why the Strategy Lead will need to tackle strategic choices, prepare investor communications, build a market-entry strategy for new countries, provide strategic foresights based on business intelligence, and open the first gigafactory.
In their first year, the Strategy Lead will develop Battolyser’s international expansion plan for sales and manufacturing, and prepare an investment memorandum for the next round of sixty million euros funding.
The Strategy Lead joins the Strategy and Growth team. To start, they will manage projects independently and work with and coach junior team members. Then , depending on their background and interests, the Strategy Lead can work towards a team leadership position, secure funding, or focus on new business and product development. Based on the significant one year growth plan, the Strategy Lead will have many opportunities to build a team if desired.
