About ING
ING is a global financial institution with a strong European base that continues to expand worldwide. Their vision is to ensure that people can always stay one step ahead, both personally and in business. With 60,000 employees, ING provides banking services to more than forty million customers in over forty countries. All ING colleagues share the same core values: transparency, integrity, and social responsibility.
Last September, the Global Process Management (GPM) team was formed by merging various process improvement teams with a new scope. Located mainly in Amsterdam, the team enables easy, uniform and digital processes across the bank. They achieve this by establishing global standards and designs, executing and implementing process improvements, and fostering increased process improvements throughout ING. The GPM team has forty members from diverse backgrounds — united by their dedication to make a positive impact for ING. The team is made up of five sub-teams, four of which are based in Amsterdam.
Vacancy: Senior Process Improvement Consultant
The Senior Process Improvement Consultant will join the Global Process Management (GPM) team. They will manage and coordinate projects across all ING countries, functions, or domains, and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary project team. Recent projects range from designing a new digital process to extending loans to new-to-bank customers without needing to open an account. Additional projects focus on optimizing European wholesale operations, as well as creating global processes that serve as reference models for business banking lending and mortgages, that speed up digitization.
The main focus of the Senior Process Improvement Consultant is to oversee the projects across the bank and ensure tangible results, while fostering an environment of continuous learning and success for their colleagues. Projects span three to six months and may require international travel.
Operating at all levels of the organization, from operational to managerial, the Senior Process Improvement Consultant will be a trusted advisor to senior management. They will also create networking possibilities to identify opportunities and potential new projects. To maximize their value, the consultant can leverage the COO network’s expertise, and tap into resources like sourcing, analytics, business controls, and risk management.
“ Our complete approach is one of the things that makes our work especially interesting. In ’traditional’ consultancy roles, the project stops with an end report that provides recommendations. We go a step further. We work with the teams to determine how to implement our recommendations.” – Eva van Solkema, Senior Global Process Expert of ING GPM
This role is an excellent opportunity for a consultant with solid analytical abilities and change management skills. A professional who is eager to apply their knowledge and expertise to challenging projects. This role should be an enthusiastic and result-driven team player with a can-do attitude. With this mindset, the Senior Process Improvement Consultant can make a meaningful difference and contribute significantly to the bank’s success.
