Family business Kramp is Europe’s leading agricultural wholesaler, delivering more than 500,000 parts and accessories to agri customers in 24 countries. The VP Supply Chain drives the supply strategy and leads the planning and distribution process at group level. They support supply chain operations in the warehouses and countries and implement the ongoing delivery model and ERP transformations.

Kramp Group is the largest supplier of parts and accessories for Europe’s agricultural sector. Its decentralized network of eleven warehouses across Europe and automated supply chain result in next-day delivery for most of the company’s impressively extensive product range. Focused on digitization and innovation, Kramp invests significantly in systems and technology to improve its warehouses and supply chain. Leveraging the e-commerce and system expertise the company has built, the company has become a one-stop shop with a well-earned reputation for reliability and customer excellence.

Since Kramp was founded in 1951, the company has achieved an impressive growth trajectory resulting in an annual turnover of over 1.2 billion euros. The company grows organically and through strategic acquisitions and now has more than 3,500 employees spread across its headquarters in the Netherlands, eleven warehouses, and twenty-four European sales offices.

Kramp works in a matrix organization to stay close to its customers for flexible and efficient delivery while still reaping scale benefits in innovation and expenditure. At group level, Kramp sets the vision, supports and optimizes distribution services in the countries, and invests in best-in-class processes and systems. Warehouse operations are managed at country level. On all levels, Kramp is home to driven individuals who set high standards. The company’s family culture is entrepreneurial, open and extrovert, keen to innovate, and people centric.

Vacancy: VP Supply Chain

The VP Supply Chain (SC) designs and implements the supply chain strategy to achieve growth, efficiency, and on-time delivery while fostering innovation. Centrally, they lead a team of about 100 employees to deliver at-scale supply chain planning and distribution services, supply chain engineering, warehouse excellence and investment projects, and Supply Chain Systems & Technology. Locally, they support the growth and efficiency of warehouses in clusters and countries through best-in-class systems, simplified and standardized processes, and shared best practices. To challenge performance, the VP also leverages the data to deliver a KPI framework and dashboard, including KPIs on warehouse excellence, supply chain planning, and distribution.

At the same time, the VP Supply Chain sets Kramp up for future growth through innovation and transformation. In the ongoing ERP transformation, they ensure continuity and reliability in the supply chain during system implementation. Meanwhile, the supply chain delivery model is also evolving as Kramp increasingly empowers the clusters and countries. The VP drives the implementation forward by further equipping the central warehouse in the Netherlands to manage the long tail inventory. They develop a vision balancing central efficiency with local flexibility, resulting in clear central and local responsibilities. In addition, the VP develops a vision for the future of supply chain optimization and simplification of the order-to-delivery process. They translate this vision into an investment agenda and the required operational changes and process improvements.

““The VP Supply Chain sees how to transform our operations in the long term and knows how to translate that vision to our business. They deliver the kind of pragmatic innovation that helps continuously improve our delivery service and availability for our customers to strengthen Kramp’s position as market leader.” – Eddie Perdok, CEO Kramp

The VP Supply Chain reports to the CEO and is part of the executive team which acts as the decision-making body at Kramp. The VP SC leads the supply chain planning team of about sixty employees and excellence teams of about thirty employees. While the nine Operations Directors (OD) of the warehouses report to their local Managing or Country Directors, the VP Supply Chain leads the ODs functionally. The VP builds a strong supply chain team around them in the headquarters and in the countries and works closely with the procurement and category management teams. To foster cross-functional collaboration, the VP Supply Chain should be present in the offices in Varsseveld and Utrecht on a weekly basis and travel regularly to the warehouses in the different countries.

This is an enticing opportunity for a seasoned supply chain leader who enjoys the exchange between the strategic, long-term vision and the short-term impact on day-to-day operations at the core of Kramp’s business. The VP builds on their commercial drive and strong business acumen to fuel growth and develop new business models in collaboration with the countries and clusters. They know how to build an excellent team around them and navigate the intricacies of a matrix organization by constantly empowering and enabling the local leaders and teams.

As a team player with an authentic, open, and transparent approach, the VP Supply Chain fits with the company culture. They take data-driven decisions, act fast and decisively, and get things done. Their ability to simplify the way the company operates and their continuous improvement mindset helps Kramp deliver on its mission—to make work as easy as possible for its customers.
