FuelFWD, backed by DockLab and Port of Rotterdam helps renewable fuel producers, transporters, and sellers manage their entire biofuel or hydrogen supply chain in one platform. FuelFWD is designed as a decentralized (cloud-native, blockchain-enabled) platform to manage international, multiactor supply chains, for producers, traders, certifiers, auditors, terminals, and partners. It is a real-time data room: tailored for supply chain reality, fit for due diligence in trade and certification. The solution is built on proven supply chain technology. Its functionalities are scoped with several leading Energy Companies, the Erasmus Trade and
Commodity Center, the Port of Rotterdam, and HyXchange, the leading Dutch initiative for hydrogen market infrastructure. FuelFWD is now further developing, market-testing and growing the solution in a 360 degree ecosystem, working with producers, traders, terminals, offtakers and certification experts across the biofuel and hydrogen industry.
With the Port of Rotterdam, DockLab, and DockLab’s broader network behind it, FuelFWD can be viewed as a “start-up with training wheels” of sorts, with a very
solid backing, and a very strong commercial and financial outlook. Current market developments as well as business developments are leading to the first pilots and live customers expected in 2024; first mainly on the biofuel side — with more to come on the hydrogen side, later.
Looking forward to a shift in 2024 from product validation and development to marketable product and growing revenue, FuelFWD are currently on the lookout for an expansion of their team, in the form of a Tech Lead. This person will play a key role in the technical completion and deployment of a market-ready version of the concept, and thereby in the scaling and growth of the company.
Vacancy: Tech Lead
The Tech Lead will be responsible for the further technical development of the platform, with a focus on producing a scalable, market-ready solution, and with a heavy focus on the future. They will be the technical leader, and serve as the counterpart for the Product Owner, helping to translate functional requirements and changes into technical strategies and plans. They will need to be very hands-on, have a solid background in various programming languages and architecture, and think cloud native. They will also bring the curiosity and mindset to be able to grow towards the role of CTO in the future.
The new Tech Lead will collaborate closely with the CEO, the Product Owner, and their DockLab counterpart. They will also support and lead out-sourced development teams, located in India, among other places. The new Tech Lead will be expected to be on top of and in full ownership of the ongoing technical development of the platform. They will also be expected to bring the personality and business acumen to be or to become a trusted sparring partner for the rest of the leadership team.
This, coupled with the typically Dutch, very open, transparent, and fairly direct culture and communication style of the FuelFWD team, calls for someone with strong communication skills and a level-headed personality. Additionally, the new Tech Lead will be someone who understands stakeholder management — as they will need to connect and communicate easily with people within FuelFWD, DockLabs and its broader partnership network — as well as with customers. This is a great role for someone with a lot of passion for and experience in cloud native technology, who would love to apply their knowledge and expertise to help a very exciting green startup to scale up. An interesting place to be for someone with a lot of technical knowledge of cloud technology, and a keen interest in decentralized tech as well as the business side of IT.
