Rheem, a leading international US manufacturer of heating, cooling, and water heating solutions for households and businesses, has an ambitious growth strategy into Europe. Their European Group and ESG Controller further develops the financial accounting structures, processes, and sustainability reporting to align with the US organization.
About Rheem
Founded in 1925, Rheem’s continued focus is providing comfort to millions of customers they serve across fifty countries. They’re the only manufacturer in the world that produces heating, cooling, water heating, pool and spa heating, and commercial refrigeration products for households and businesses. By 2023, its portfolio of over fifty brands made six billion dollars in global sales. Rheem’s commitment to innovation and increasing sustainability — to deliver the exactly right temperature while saving energy and water — keeps the company at the forefront of the industry.
Rheem Europe took shape with the acquisition of Intergas in 2019 and DEJONG in 2022. Intergas is a leading player in The Netherlands with gas-fired boilers and hybrid heat pump solutions. And DEJONG is a top-tier producer of hot water tanks. With these companies’ product portfolios, Rheem is rapidly developing its European presence and capitalizing on significant opportunities thanks to the region’s expansive position in combating climate change. The company continues to expand through acquisitions and the construction of a new factory in Slovakia.
As part of Rheem’s global sustainability program ‘A Greater Degree of Good™,’ Rheem Europe aims for ambitious Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) targets in honor of the company’s centennial in 2025. They’ve already exceeded its goal of training 250,000 plumbers, contractors, and key stakeholders on sustainability, by training almost 500,000. Rheem is also well on its way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by fifty percent and achieve Zero Waste to Landfill in its global manufacturing operations, and empower its customers and employees to live and work more sustainably.
