Ultimately, this is a highly international role ensuring the delivery of all IT and Digital capabilities impacting business performance.
The Corporate Director IT reports directly to the SHV Executive Vice President, Floris de Ryck (member of the SHV Executive Board of Directors), and has nine direct reports. The key responsibilities are:
- Leading global IT initiatives such as information security and major global contracts and services. This includes the coordination of the global IT Leadership Team, pursuing and implementing shared contracts and services. The total IT spend is around €170 million per year.
- Supporting the Groups with strategic direction when it comes to all decentralized IT and Digital domains (e.g. enterprise architecture management, application management, security and risk management, and infrastructure). This includes earning trust as an advisor, challenging and validating the strategic plans and projects of each group, and promoting a global IT community to ensure alignment, collaboration, and synergy across SHV’s family of companies. The IT Leaders/CIO’s of the Groups report to the CEOs of the groups and with a dotted line to the Corporate Director IT. For this part of the role, cultural sensitivity, an international mindset, and advanced stakeholder management skills are an absolute must.
- Leading the IT Operations at the head office, including managing a team of nine direct reports. Their focus areas are Service & Operations, Risk & Security, IT Projects & Investments and Digital Innovation, and Corporate Enterprise Architecture.

This is a varied role, overseeing and supporting a highly international and balanced portfolio of growth projects and digital initiatives that include product, service, process, and business model innovation aligned to strategic business goals. For example, the Corporate Director IT also promotes a data-driven mindset and supports the adoption of ADAPTFY, an independent SHV Data & Analytics entity, across all groups. The key to success is bringing together a wide diversity of people, businesses, and their interests. Strong influencer skills will go a long way.
“SHV feels like an extension of my family. Everybody cares about people. Integrity, loyalty and respect are the key values of our culture. It doesn’t matter what company I go to, I never feel like I’m the corporate guy visiting operations. I always feel embraced and supported by all employees. We’re all family.” – Paolo Rodrigues (Corporate Director IT)
