Vacancy: Head of Finance
The Head of Finance will be based at Permavoid’s Amsterdam office, home to a team of around twenty professionals. In this ambitious environment, the role oversees the full range of finance functions, including sales and purchase ledger, payroll, VAT, tax, and general ledger entries. Key responsibilities include overseeing financial reporting, preparing consolidated statutory accounts, managing audit preparation, and leading the forecasting and budgeting cycles. In addition, the Head of Finance plays a key role in planning and decision-making, actively supporting the Managing Director with strategic and operational financial leadership. They provide accurate and timely insights into business performance across regions, products, and key metrics such as cash flow, carbon reporting, and innovation efforts– always focused on driving process improvements and systems development, ensuring financial compliance and operational efficiency, and supporting the company’s continued growth.
A key responsibility of the Head of Finance involves integrating financial systems, including reporting tools, into Genuit’s way of working. Close collaboration with Group Finance will be necessary to ensure the smooth adoption of these systems, while the Head of Finance also has the confidence to challenge decisions when integration may not align with the company’s needs or long-term strategy. Regular visits to European and US project sites will also be required to monitor financial progress and provide updates at the highest level.
A challenge lies in navigating the complexity of global operations, where projects span multiple countries, each with its own regulations, currencies, and unique stakeholder dynamics. The role calls for a finance professional who can handle these layers of complexity while ensuring that all business objectives are met. Balancing the energy and ambition of a rapidly growing scale-up with the relationships and dynamics of a large multinational organization demands agility, strategic insight, and strong leadership.
“Success in this role hinges on the perfect balance between strategic vision and hands-on execution. Striking that balance calls for business acumen, flexibility, and an innovative mind – qualities that fuel both the company’s growth and its mission to make a meaningful impact on the world.” – Rozanne van Vliet, Managing Director
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-evolving international environment, leveraging expertise from both SMEs and corporate backgrounds. Strong communication skills are essential to explain complex financial topics and build relationships with diverse stakeholders. This high-impact role offers broad exposure and long-term development opportunities within the wider Genuit Group. Moreover, it’s an opportunity to make a tangible difference – every project helps create more livable cities and contributes to a better world.
