STX is a market maker in environmental commodities such as carbon credits, biofuels, and renewables. They trade in products that help reduce CO2 emissions. Their new HR Business Partner will support all people-related issues and globally implement performance management and succession planning practices that foster increased growth within the company.
About STX Group
In response to environmental regulations, shareholders, and corporate responsibility standards, companies continue to adopt ways that reduce their carbon footprints. Market maker STX Group supports these businesses by trading energy products from renewables and biofuels to carbon credits. This is how STX invigorates the environmental commodities market’s liquidity, transparency, and availability. They believe their efforts make a small – yet significant – impact on decarbonizing the global economy.
As a specialist trader in environmental commodities, STX does not build wind farms, operate solar parks, or execute large energy reduction projects. However, every day they strengthen the reliability and professionalism of these markets and increase confidence in sustainable investments. Their environmental business model helps build trust in renewables markets and stimulates the transition away from pollution and depletion of natural resources.
Headquartered in Amsterdam, STX is a global company with offices in New York, Singapore, Lyon, Hamburg, and Gothenburg. The scale-up currently employs about four hundred people, with plans to more than double that number in a few short years. As it transitions towards becoming a mature international corporation, STX has already established a strong company culture and professionalized its people processes.
Vacancy: HR Business Partner
The HR Business Partner will support all of STX’s HR-related topics and lead the global implementation of new and improved performance management and succession planning practices. This role joins the HR team that designs and executes STX’s people strategy to ensure they have the necessary structures and processes in place to keep growing and performing at an exceptionally high level. The HR Business Partner will report to the HR Lead and work closely with senior business counterparts.
“As HR professionals, we ensure STX attracts and retains talent through employee engagement, training, development, and our culture. As a collaborative, proactive, and action-oriented HR team, we drive business performance and enable growth.” – Maaike Altenburg, HR Lead of STX GROUP
Performance management and succession planning are two areas of primary focus for the HR Business Partner. They will introduce a high-performance way of working with a strong feedback culture, from learning curricula around goal setting, and coaching, to performance expectations. For succession planning, this role will implement a system that ensures continuity and facilitates sustainable growth. They will execute these global projects, which involves partnering with cross-functional teams, such as Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, Compensation and Benefits, and collaborating with business leaders and managers across all of STX’s offices.
Another main responsibility of the HR Business Partner is to coach and counsel team leaders in every aspect of the employee lifecycle. They will help managers build a strong team, safeguard team stability in case of illness or attrition, and solve challenging employee cases such as termination and potential non-compete breaches. To effectively support management, the HR Business Partner offers a mature, well-rounded communication style and displays both business insights, HR expertise, and creative problem-solving skills. In addition, the HR Business Partner will coach and mentor junior HR Advisors.
The role will be a vital part of a fast-growing, international, and diverse organization. They will enjoy a great deal of freedom and accountability while enjoying the opportunity to spearhead and implement two strategic HR capabilities that are required for STX to achieve long-term success.
