VolkerWessels Telecom
VolkerWessels Telecom designs, builds and maintains the above-ground and underground telecoms infrastructure that connects applications that our society needs. Its mission is to make living and working as comfortable as possible. How? Through total connectivity. For everyone, always and everywhere, down to the last square centimetre. From homes and offices to tunnels, stadiums and public spaces.
Organisation
VolkerWessels Telecom is part of VolkerWessels, a leading, international construction company focused on living, working and mobility. The group plays a key role in society with projects and services that sustainably contribute to the living environment. VolkerWessels operates according to the principle ‘think globally, act locally’ and is active with more than 130 local operating companies in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, North America and Germany.
Culture
VolkerWessels Telecom’s culture combines the realism of a builder with the creativity of an innovator. Technology is at the heart of VolkerWessels Telecom’s work, but they look beyond the technical challenges, such as exploding data consumption or mobile coverage in well-insulated buildings. In fact, the focus is always on the end user.
Transformation programme
VolkerWessels Telecom consists of four large business units (Infratechniek, Service & Beheer, Network Solutions and FttX) large business units (jointly around 1,350 employees) , three innovative portfolio companies (Recognize, Hyrde and MapXact, jointly 130 employees) and a fast-growing German branch (around 50 employees). Supported by staff services centrally located in Amersfoort.
To remain agile as a company and stay ahead in the dynamic connectivity market, the One Way of Working (WOW’21) programme was set up, aimed at simplifying, standardising and digitising VolkerWessels Telecom’s processes and working methods. One of the priorities is to further bring Operations and Finance together and later facilitate an ERP transformation. All business units and staff departments are closely involved in this.
