About ING

ING is a global financial institution with market leadership in the Benelux, a solid European base, and a growing presence in the rest of the world. Its purpose – as a bank, employer, and an engaged member of society – is to empower people to stay ahead in life and business. The 58,000 employees of ING offer retail and commercial banking services to 38 million customers in over forty countries throughout Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia, and Australia.

“As a bank, one of the ways ING can make a positive impact on climate action is through our financing. We’re aiming to steer the most carbon-intensive parts of our portfolio towards reaching net zero by 2050. We call this the Terra approach.” – Steven van Rijswijk, CEO

As showcased by its omnichannel approach, personalized mobile-first interface, and state-of-the-art customer experience, ING is among the most cutting-edge players in the global banking sector. The company constantly improves its capabilities and launches disruptive new propositions and features. The Group Strategy and Innovation (GS&I) department is one of the driving forces behind ING’s innovative power. GS&I develops disruptive strategies, leads high-impact projects, and ensures implementation and alignment. The department translates emerging technologies into use cases, creates growth engines, and prepares ING for industry-transforming trends.

The GS&I department falls directly under the CEO and comprises three teams: Group Innovation, Group Strategy Consulting, and Group Corporate Development. The teams consist of a mix of financial services experts and former consultants. The way of working and general vibe in these teams will make a Strategy Consultant feel right at home.
