About ASML

ASML is the world leading manufacturer of complex lithography systems critical to the production of microchips – in short, we design and manufacture the machines that manufacture microchips! Founded in 1984, we now count over 43,000 employees from 144 nationalities worldwide across more than 60 locations. Headquartered in the Netherlands, we amassed >€27bn revenues in 2023 with over 50% gross margin and we continue to invest heavily in our R&D as we experience exponential growth.

We are now seeking an Enterprise Architect to join an existing team of architects, each with their own distinct area of speciality. This role will focus on software engineering, bringing new and innovative approaches to the way we code, providing a constant vision of our design and engineering processes. Architecture in this context provides the framework and direction to solution delivery for our clients, incremental system architectures providing successive steps up to next plateau of innovation that enhances our solutions.

Roles & Key responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of IT Architecture and part of our IT Enterprise Architecture Group, you will:

  • Take responsibility for ensuring the company’s business strategy uses proper technology systems architecture to achieve its goals.
  • Coach the business and internal stakeholders in helping to build and consolidate the Development Environments.
  • Mature the reference architecture for the DevEnvs to ensure it meets the development requirement.
  • Define an optimised set of DevEnvs for appropriate support of the development requirements of the various user communities.
  • Build a governance structure and advise the various owners of the DevEnvs on consolidating the environments into the bigger plan, aligning on architectural challenges and the choices made to address these, ensuring consistency in the approach whilst managing the legacy DevEnvs.
  • Provide a vision of the target IT landscape for the enterprise, defining the roadmap required to migrate the DevEnvs to the target state, including transitional steps and the conditions required for success.
  • Maintain our Enterprise Architecture tools, maturing our meta model and developing the IT application standards (directives, policies and guidelines)

Required Experience

You are likely a tenured Enterprise Architect now, but have barriers preventing you from spreading your wings or you find the heavy lifting no longer exists with your current employer. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and influencing skills, as you will be the glue that binds strategy to execution. A natural communicator with both technical and non-technical audiences, you encourage collaboration through your ability to influence rather than demand, building bridges across the various facets of the business and rebuilding them where they have been lost.

  • Significant experience in IT Applications and/or IT Architecture in large-scale IT environments where you have spent long enough at companies to see iterations of products over time
  • Deep commercial knowledge of modern software development practices, including cloud-native solution delivery
  • Strong understanding of cross platform application architecture in a b2b environment
  • Familiarity with TOGAF framework and Archimate business modelling
  • Exposure to and familiarity with compliance guidelines in all their forms
  • Repeated experience working with a SAFe/Agile delivery framework
  • Degree/post grad degree in relevant subject eg. Computer Science, Information Systems
