THE POSITION: DIRECTOR AMAZON EUROPE, Australia & New Zealand
This is a rare and unique opportunity to build and leverage a state-of-the-art partnership with arguably the most important player in the modern global e-commerce market, thus contributing to groundbreaking expansion. Because of the high levels of visibility within the organization, success in this role will be rewarded with attractive career opportunities.
The Director Amazon Europe will take ownership and stewardship of the coordination of RB’s partnership with Amazon between all the major countries. The candidate needs to be able to transfer knowledge, first internally, within RB Global Health & Hygiene, and then externally to the other RB country teams.
The Director Amazon Europe will be part of a management team led by Eelco Ockers, GM Sales Europe, Australia & New Zealand, and will work closely with Anthony Jenkinson, SVP Global E-Business at RB, and his team. Ockers’ team is comprised of the Director Amazon Europe, a Director Discount Retail, a Director International Contracts, a Director Revenue Maximization / Pricing, a Director Go-To-Market / Sales Force Automation and a Manager Sales Learning & Development. The Director Amazon will have two direct reports: a Channel Marketing Manager and a Search & Content Manager.
“Our expectations are first and foremost to streamline the coordination of RB’s partnership with Amazon between the different countries and implement capability building across countries. We want to truly accelerate the share & re-apply process, so, for example, identify a strategy that works in the UK and figure out how we can implement and develop this same strategy in Germany.” – Eelco Ockers, GM Sales EU & ANZ
An exciting challenge can be found in building the direct-to-consumer activities from scratch: mainly through Amazon, but also through platforms like Alibaba and eBay.
Other challenges essential to this role lie in developing and implementing a vision and strategy for the partnership with Amazon Europe. Another important responsibility of the Director Amazon is overseeing the optimization of Amazon’s range of RB products and identifying the gaps and areas for improvement.
