Johan Jacobs and Egbert Douwes did not know where the journey would take them, they only had the vision that everyone deserves the coffee they like. And that vision is JDE today still loyal. Very concretely: that comes down to 5.000 cups of good coffee per second. The world headquarters is located in Amsterdam and has a close relationship with the Dutch organization. That is reflected in the career and the fact that pilots and innovations are often the first to be launched in the Netherlands.
International market position
With brands such as Douwe Egberts, Pickwick, Velour Noir, Tassimo, Jacobs, Moccona, Senseo, L’OR and JDE Kenco is the largest pure-play coffee company in the world. In 2012 DE Master Blenders 1753 was spun off from Sara Lee. Within a year, the purse was taken by a group of investors – led by the German JAB. They closed this year’s merger with Mondelēz international. A result-oriented and proactive company have had emerged with the potential and ambition to become the largest coffee supplier in the world.
