“As a business, we’re both people-centric and data-driven,” says Carla Mahieu, Global Head of Human Resources for Aegon. “When you look at where Aegon stands today, you can see how powerful the combination of analytics and the people-centric approach is. But with regards to HR, we’ve only dipped a toe in the water. That’s why we’re keen to unlock the potential of HR data.”
"Last year, 18,097 employees took part in the annual Employer Global Employee Survey. The results were positive, showing areas of strength that include respect, recognition, confidence in local management, on-the-job-learning, enablement and engagement."
There’s a world of opportunities.
HR Data will help us unlock them.
The Global HR team focuses on creating leaders, developing talent and implementing more efficient ways of working. “We have many well-run programs around the world, including the Future Fit program, the BRAVO! app for Employee Recognition, WorkSmarter and of course the implementation of Workday," says Mahieu. Workday is an HR platform to store and process personal data of employees, managers and applicants. The platform gives employees direct access to their own information from their desktop, tablet or mobile devices. It also gives managers an overview of team statistics. “Workday enables our people to collaborate in new ways, and it enables a more analytical approach to HR management.”
