Vacancy: Head of Data

Essent’s critical strategic and commercial goals can only be achieved with the right data strategy, developed and validated by the Head of Data. A substantial, inspiring vision on data and knowledge of B2C (retail) business models form the foundation of this strategy. Through program management, the Head of Data ensures effective implementation and achievement of set objectives. Decision-making is aligned with relevant business stakeholders at the executive level, whom the Head of Data convinces with clear insights. They proactively establish connections with the business, filling a bridging function that is essential for achieving joint successful results.

The Head of Data leads the Data Management Team, which includes three Data Managers who oversee nearly forty FTE data professionals. In addition to these highly skilled team members, the Head of Data also has access to the most advanced tools available.

Given the crucial role of data in Essent’s overall strategic agenda, it is essential that the Head of Data is an integral part of the organization. They proactively take the lead in creating value with the various business units and in achieving the objectives together. The Head of Data reports directly to Henriette Setz, Director of Operations and a member of Essent’s Strategic Leadership Team.

Program Management
In addition to the strategic and people-connecting component, program management is a prominent part of the role. The Head of Data effectively and efficiently organizes the management of a multi-year program, ensuring that all involved business units and teams within the company are aligned through their clear, structured leadership approach.

The ideal candidate is a driven Head of Data with experience handling large volumes of consumer data. Experienced management consultants with extensive expertise in the data domain can also be successful in this role. As the ultimate responsible for the complete data department, the Head of Data will have significant influence over Essent’s strategic agenda, the realization of its strategic ambitions, and the entire energy transition.
