Stanley is a century-old American heritage company, known for its green thermos bottles. Today they’re growing into double digits. The Finance Manager of EMEA will interpret the financial accounts and identify ways to grow and improve the P&L even more. This is an exciting opportunity to directly contribute to the success of an innovative global consumer brand.

About Stanley

Stanley was founded in 1913 and until 2020, it was best known for its green stainless-steel thermos bottle. These days, they are revolutionizing the international food and beverage culture and have doubled their business for the past two years.

To achieve this fast growth, Stanley focused on its core strengths: innovation and sustainability. Stanley continues to innovate, and create new products and ways to connect with global consumers. In just two years, they’ve doubled their business thanks to the boom in sales of its Camp products during the pandemic. Also, vibrant, colorful products have successfully tapped into the younger, female consumer segment. People are also increasingly interested in Stanley due to its sustainability mission: building products that last a lifetime, from using recycled materials, wrapped in paper packaging.

Stanley is a group that makes high-quality and sustainable food and drink containers under flagship brands, headquartered in Seattle, with a commercial team of around fifteen people in Amsterdam. Stanley is a stand online business unit as part of HAVI, a global, privately owned company that employs more than 10,000 people and serves customers in more than one hundred countries. It connects people with ideas, data with insights, supply with demand, restaurants with deliveries and ultimately, people with the products they love. Apart from their US headquarters, Stanley also has offices in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Amsterdam, Rio de Janeiro, Cariacica, Manaus, and Manila.

Vacancy: Finance Manager – EMEA

The Finance Manager of EMEA joins the commercial team of around fifteen people in Amsterdam and is responsible for interpreting the financial accounts and identifying how to grow and improve the P&L. Strategic and critical thinking are therefore key. By understanding the numbers, the Finance Manager can effectively advise or challenge the business and enable data-driven decision-making. Also, the role proactively looks at opportunities within the finance domain itself, for example in tax, forex management, accounting, payroll, and tariffs. It’s essential to have the ability to spot such opportunities and a natural eagerness to embrace them.

The Finance Manager also develops policies and guidelines for financial management, and ensures their implementation for the entire operations, including the accuracy of accounting and tax reconciliation in accordance with the countries’ laws. In addition, this position guarantees the financial budget and forecast, and sets the standards to ensure information is accurate and within deadlines. To achieve this, the Finance Manager will develop and implement the annual financial planning process, which should monitor decision-making and results.

The role of Financial Manager is stand-alone yet very connected with international teams, with the back-office in Manila, and the head-office in Seattle.  This role reports to the President of Stanley EMEA & South America, who is based in Brazil. People skills and the ability to quickly build trust are crucial in this role. The Finance Manager will have one direct report in Manila.

This is the best time to join the company, and be part of its tremendous success. You have to be hungry for growth, taking a company to triple growth in three years is thrilling! – Andrea Martins, President of Stanley EMEA & South America

The career path for the Finance Manager EMEA is highly attractive due to the steep growth that Stanley is experiencing as well as the network offered by HAVI.
