About VitalFluid
Over a decade ago, Paul Leenders, a creative entrepreneur with a background in chemistry, and Polo van Ooij, an electrical engineer at TU Eindhoven, discovered the enormous potential of plasma technology during a joint research project. Together with TU Eindhoven, they founded VitalFluid in 2014. Since then, the company grew into a world leader in applications of plasma-activated water. With the support of venture capital and in collaboration with leading partners such as Radboudumc, Wageningen University and the European Union, the scale-up is working hard to scale up several ambitious projects.
The mission
VitalFluid has a clear mission: to contribute to sustainable food production by developing clean alternatives to nitrogen fertilisers and plant protection products. The focus is on natural solutions for agriculture, including nitrogen replacement, seed treatment and plant protection. VitalFluid is also exploring how plasma technology can be used in other sectors – including the medical and cleaning industries. The ambition: to become a world leader and the centre of excellence in plasma technology.

As a pioneer in plasma technology, the scale-up offers an inspiring working environment where technology and sustainability take centre stage. At the office in the High Tech Campus Eindhoven – also called ‘the smartest square kilometre in Europe’ – the team of 25 employees works closely with leading universities and research institutes on smart solutions for a better future.
