Myne facilitates high-quality separation of used metals for circular metal production, emission-free and infinitely reusable. On the trading platform MyMyne, suppliers and buyers can manage quotes, transactions, and invoices themselves, as well as manage logistics agreements and quality information. The Product Manager is responsible for developing new features, making the platform scalable, and driving further growth of the organization.
About Myne
We can’t live without metals, but the supplies are finite, and extracting them is costly and harmful to the planet. The Dutch company Myne came up with a solution for this. Together with TU Delft, Myne developed an advanced machine that, using AI technology, separates metals and converts them into raw materials of the same quality as primary metal. This gives the company the key to making the metal industry more sustainable. Additionally, Myne is working on technology for separating and recycling plastic.
MyMyne Platform
Myne works with hundreds of international customers and suppliers. The metal market is dynamic, characterized by fast transactions and large price variations. To serve all customers and suppliers as best as possible, Myne developed an online platform: MyMyne. This platform is linked to Myne’s CRM system, allowing users to execute transactions – linked to real-time rates – and manage other administrative matters themselves. But that’s not all; users can also make appointments and track logistics, product, and quality information. The ambition is to make MyMyne a leading trading platform that can also be purchased and used by third parties.
Myne’s production site is located in Harderwijk. The company has a turnover of about 400 million euros and employs 75 people. Each one is intelligent and passionate, dedicated daily to permanently changing the metal industry. The Netherlands is just the beginning: in the coming years, Myne aims to open factories worldwide.
Vacancy: Product Manager MyMyne
The Product Manager leads the development and continuous improvement of the MyMyne platform. This is done from a clear product vision naturally aligned with the market in which Myne operates and the ambitions the company has for MyMyne. These ambitions include functional areas: Myne wants to establish an extensive communication platform integrating AI and LLM (Large Language Model) and delivering impact reports – including CO2 reports for scope 1 (emissions from own production) through scope 3 (emissions further down the value chain). Another ambition is to offer extensive product propositions and loyalty programs and make MyMyne more scalable and modular. The primary goal is to optimally serve the growing customer and supplier base. In the future, the company aims to offer the platform as a SaaS solution to other parties.
Architecture and Product Development
The Product Manager is responsible for the architectural choices involved in the further development of MyMyne. The platform is built in PHP, a language the Product Manager sufficiently understands to effectively guide the team. They optimize the existing platform to improve performance and user experience and lead the design and implementation of new modules and features. Additionally, the Product Manager manages the back-end and improves data structures to support future growth. Innovation is key: the Product Manager MyMyne integrates advanced technologies and automation to further optimize the platform.
The Product Manager identifies opportunities for both technological improvement and efficiency, as well as for commercial applications and market expansion. They also explore how MyMyne can be positioned as a distinctive, standalone product within the recycling industry and develop onboarding strategies for new customers.
Team Leadership
The Product Manager MyMyne effectively and inspiringly leads a team of programmers. They implement best practices for (agile) software development, conduct regular code reviews, and provide constructive feedback. As a team player and strong communicator, the Product Manager ensures excellent collaboration with multifunctional teams within Myne to align technical solutions, product roadmaps, and timelines with strategic and commercial goals.
“The entire customer journey already takes place in MyMyne, but there is more to be gained commercially. Especially in our contact with small and medium-sized customers, there is still plenty of room for automation. If we incorporate the right additional information, such as about carbon footprint, we can become the leading platform for the bulk and recycling industry within a few years.” – Martijn van de Poll, co-CEO
This is an excellent role for an experienced product manager, engineer, or architect ready for the next step in team and product leadership. The ideal candidate combines skills in software architecture and product ownership and has the leadership skills to effectively integrate these into the team and organization. By taking the MyMyne platform to a higher level and making it scalable, the Product Manager contributes crucially to the company’s mission to radically green the industry.
