The focus and mission of this role is optimizing and leading all HR aspects of this business. This includes, on the one hand, daily HR management; and on the other hand, creating policies, improving ways of working, and introducing standardization and best practices.
Day-to-day management

They are a seasoned team leader who can delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, coaching team members where needed, and reviewing and evaluating results on a regular basis. The team includes, among other roles, recruiters, HRBPs, HR Specialists, and payroll administrators.
The HR Director maintains excellent relationships with both the company’s senior leadership and its local teams and managers, allowing for swift consultation and effective implementation of solutions when specific questions or cases arise. For this, they need to be an excellent stakeholder manager and an easily approachable, well-trusted networker and advisor. At the same time, they need to be business savvy and data-driven, to make sensible decisions that are in line with the company’s strategy and targeted business outcomes. They should encourage the team to adopt this mindset as well.
Special projects
The HR Director is also responsible for the set-up and delivery of several special projects. One example is the synchronization of contracts and designing a standardized template for future contracts, based on solid knowledge of EU and international labor law. Another example is setting up a learning & development program for all departments, locations, and roles, incorporating a digital learning platform. A third example of an important project is setting up a salary and job title structure.
These projects should be seen in the context of an international company that continues to expand through both organic growth and mergers and acquisitions. Experience with post-merger integrations, as well as cultural flexibility and sensitivity will help make a candidate successful.
