Vacancy: Senior Operations Manager of Fulfillment & Distribution – EMEA
Given Stanley1913’s more-than-rapid growth, organizing the supply chain to become a smoothly running powerhouse is vital. The company is therefore streamlining its logistical operations and partnerships. The primary responsibility of the Senior Operations Manager of Fulfillment & Distribution is to bring rock-solid structure to this effort, with support from a direct report based in Venlo who is responsible for day-to-day warehouse and fulfillment operations.
Stanley1913 EMEA works with different third-party logistics providers (3PL) in the Netherlands, Czech Republic, and the UK, which supply the entire European market. The company’s exponential growth has resulted in a challenging and complex supply chain and fulfillment context, where strong relationships with 3PL providers and razor-sharp clarity on standard operating procedures are key.
It will be the job of the Senior Operations Manager to optimize the 3PL-setup by developing a thorough understanding of processes and success factors, and then cascading those insights throughout Stanley1913’s logistics organization. They will analyze and utilize relevant data to manage the streamlining of the setup, creating an efficient way of working that can support Stanley1913’s rapid growth. Meanwhile, this person will also be the key interface between Stanley1913’s e-commerce operations, business development, and 3PL partners, ensuring flawless execution of sales orders while fostering positive and fruitful relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
“Bringing structure, mapping processes, and facilitating the streamlining and professionalization of our fast-growing logistics organization are the main strategic challenges for this role. Simplifying where possible, coaching others to follow structure, and deploying impactful communication with both external and internal stakeholders.” – Tom van Bilsen, Director of Fulfillment and Distribution EMEA
In addition, the role involves key daily operational responsibilities. Acting as the critical liaison between the Stanley1913 EMEA organization and its partners, the Senior Operations Manager oversees the performance of 3PL providers, drives day-to-day operational efficiency, and leads the implementation of workflow and process improvements. Addressing issues proactively, monitoring contract compliance, and resolving potential contract challenges are all part of the role. Moreover, they will represent the Fulfillment & Distribution organization in the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) cycles and stay up to date on supply chain industry and market trends, serving as an informed resource for internal teams and customers.
This role is the perfect opportunity for a candidate with a background working at or with logistics service providers, in either operational or engineering roles, and who has experience working with customers in the FMCG or fashion sector. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced, and highly dynamic environment, leveraging best practices to solve today’s challenges while anticipating and planning for tomorrow. This role also involves travel to Venlo and the UK. A stellar problem solver who thinks analytically, asks the right questions, and brings solid structure to decision-making, will make a lasting impact in this role and help shape the supply chain organization of one of today’s most exciting global brands.
