About Nederlandse Loterij

Formed in 2016 through the merger of Staatsloterij and Lotto, Nederlandse Loterij strives to promote a healthy and active Netherlands. Vacancy: Head of Architecture

This is an exciting moment to join Nederlandse Loterij. The organization has recently redefined its strategy, placing technology at the heart of its ambitions. Key decisions are being made on whether to develop solutions in-house or source them externally. In this crucial phase, the Head of Architecture can shape the IT landscape, define a clear architectural vision, and work closely with business and IT stakeholders to create a scalable, future-proof, and data-driven organization.

The Head of Architecture leads a team of three architects and nine business analysts, with the analysts reporting to their own team lead. In this role, the Head of Architecture ensures that the IT landscape remains coherent, scalable, high-quality, and compliant. This includes overseeing new applications such as Player Account Management (PAM) and responsible gaming systems, guiding the technical development of a cross-sell channel across all lottery brands, and professionalizing data domains through AI and analytics. Innovations are applied strategically, with a focus on maximizing their contribution to Nederlandse Loterij’s commercial outcomes and long-term strategic objectives.

Complex stakeholder environment
Nederlandse Loterij’s IT organization comprises around 250 professionals. As part of the Technology Leadership Team, the Head of Architecture works closely with the Heads of DevOps Lotteries, DevOps iGaming, Data Management, and Infrastructure/Security, reporting directly to CTIO Maartje Geven. In this role, maintaining strong relationships with external partners and IT suppliers is essential, alongside the ability to steer a complex network of internal and external stakeholders.
