For more than fifty years, Stuttgart-based Viastore Group supply chain management firm, has grown into a leading, intralogistics specialist that provides integrated, automated solutions worldwide. Recently, they joined the Toyota Advanced Logistics Group. And viastore’s new Chief of Staff will collaborate with the CEO to lead the company into its next phase to further expand its business success.
About Viastore Group
Without logistics, life in our modern networked world would be unthinkable. It ensures that supermarket shelves are stocked, urgently-needed spare parts are available as fast as possible — almost anywhere in the world — and production lines never stand still. Today, there are many ongoing challenges in the industry. These include increasing globalization and demands on production facilities’ efficiency and flexibility, high customer expectations for quality and delivery reliability, and a commitment to sustainability. Viastore’s intelligent, intralogistics solutions help customers to map complex material and goods flows, plan more efficiently, optimize workflows and storage areas, and save costs.
Viastore has been an international specialist of intralogistics systems, software and services for more than fifty years. As a reliable partner, they offer their industry’s wide customers a full range of services to optimize logistics processes – from consulting and planning to implementation and permanently improving existing intralogistics solutions.
Their state-of-the-art intralogistics system solutions and automated warehouse systems support small-parts warehouses to highly complex distribution centers. They help customers minimize inventories and order throughput times, reduce energy costs, boost productivity and delivery quality, and minimize errors. They also seamlessly integrate and coordinate new and existing logistics processes systems.
As one of a few, niche intralogistics specialists worldwide, viastore also provides innovative warehouse software and material flow control services. Their Viadat software platform gives manufacturers access to a world-leading warehouse management system that reduce costs and work-in-process inventories.
Entrepreneurial foresight and progressive thinking are in viastore’s DNA as a family business that launched around 130 years ago. After taking over Maschinenwerkstätte C. Haushahn in 1889, company founder Immanuel Hahn started building Germany’s first high-speed elevators. Eighty years later, they shifted focus into warehouse technology.
In 1999, viastore was founded as an independent business for operational logistics. In 1989, they were acquired by Toyota Industries and incorporated into the Toyota Advanced Logistics Group (TALG) division as an independent unit that has maintained its original brand, business units, locations and management.
Today, the company is headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany. They employ more than 600 people worldwide, with subsidiaries in Germany, France, Spain, the Czech Republic, Russia, the US and Brazil. Even with its international success, viastore remains true to its roots as a Swabian family business. Their company culture reflects this with their dedicated customer focus, and pragmatic and entrepreneurial spirit where trust is key and every employee can contribute to the company’s success.
Vacancy: Chief of Staff
Viastore’s strategy is to consistently succeed as an independent unit under the Toyota Industries Co. (TICO) umbrella and achieve significant growth in the coming years. The Chief of Staff will join other new top management appointments and associated growth prospects, to support the CEO and make a significant contribution to Viastore’s continued success.
As a trusted advisor and right hand support for the CEO, the Chief of Staff provides direction in strategic projects, acts as their sparring partner, and participates in designing and implementing strategic initiatives. They ensure day-to-day management of company-wide operations and monitor the leadership team’s efficiency and effectiveness, while supporting the CEO’s initiatives so they can focus on their most important tasks. The Chief will also be a central point of contact between decision-makers and employees at all levels of the company and work closely with key stakeholders as well as the parent company, Toyota Advanced Logistic.
While prioritizing important issues, optimizing existing processes and managing strategic projects, the Chief of Staff also ensures internal transparency and provides management with meaningful information and key figures used for making strategic decisions. Developing market and ad hoc analyzes as well as meaningful reports are as much a part of the job as preparing presentations, and participating in meetings and business trips.
The Chief of Staff will closely collaborate with the CEO while being dedicated to the growth of the entire company. To succeed, an entrepreneurial spirit, empathy, organizational talent and common sense for solving critical situations are necessary. This role can manage a wide range of various tasks. In particular, strategic thinkers with a consulting background, emotional intelligence, and comfortable in a collaborative environment can naturally apply their skills to make a direct impact in this international company’s success. In addition to liaising with senior management and making a significant impact on viastore’s strategic direction, this challenging position offers excellent development opportunities. In the mid-term, the Chief of Staff will focus on far-reaching management tasks within viastore or the parent company.
They will enjoy the team-oriented culture with flat hierarchies and a friendly atmosphere. The modern office is in a prime location with good transport links within Stuttgart. This flexible role allows hybrid working and many benefits, including JobBike, free health and sports activities, and regular events and workshops, which make viastore a particularly attractive employer.
