About Unidex
The story of Unidex begins in 1989, when student Roland Janssen wrote his graduation thesis on exotic foods. This was no coincidence: his father was in the spice trade and Roland himself loved exotic foods. More than three decades later, Roland is at the helm of Unidex, a successful multinational company that supplies more than 3,500 food items and products to over 2,500 supermarket chains, wholesalers, shops, and Asian grocery stores throughout Europe from its central warehouse near Hoofddorp. The company has sales offices in the Netherlands, Belgium, Great Britain, Portugal, and Spain, and its own production facility in Thailand. More than 100 people work at the head office and warehouse in De Zilk, which is easily accessible by public transport.
Undergoing rapid development
Unidex is currently in an interesting phase. The company has been successful for over thirty years, but at the same time, it is still undergoing rapid development in certain areas in order to become even more professional. Unidex attracts a wealth of talent and implements systems to facilitate development and growth. To this end, employees in this entrepreneurial, ambitious organization are given complete freedom and responsibility.
Working at Unidex
The central warehouse in De Zilk is also home to Unidex’s head office. Here, employees work hard every day to make their wonderful brands—including names such as Blue Elephant, Tajin, Supermalt, Valle del Sole, and So Thai—available to as wide an audience as possible. They do this in an open, no-nonsense culture. Because no matter how big Unidex has become in over thirty years, the traditional values of the entrepreneurial family business are still intact. Employees communicate transparently and directly, and everything is done on the basis of trust. Unidex is a proud, people-oriented organization with a strong focus on personal development and growth.
