How it began
When fruit flies take over your kitchen and you can barely move, you have to get creative. That’s how the story of Super Ninja began in 2014, when founder Ferdinand was at home with a knee injury and looking for an effective and natural solution to combat fruit flies. With his background in mechanical engineering, he set out to find a modern solution to pest control. What he found proved to be eight times more effective than existing pesticides. The first Fruit Fly Ninja was born: a smart trap for fruit flies, based on 100% natural ingredients, packaged in a design made from recycled and recyclable materials.
The mission
Pest control does not have to be at the expense of humans, animals or the environment. Super Ninja demonstrates that natural ingredients and smart product design together offer a powerful, sustainable alternative to chemical pesticides that disrupt the natural ecosystem. The range is no longer limited to controlling fruit flies, but also includes products to combat silverfish, plant flies, mosquitoes, ants, cockroaches and clothes moths.
Organisational culture
The Super Ninja team consists of ten people. Despite strong growth in turnover and scope, the company has made a conscious decision to keep this team compact. This ensures agility, commitment and, above all, speed. The entrepreneurial and committed culture is one of the main reasons for the company’s success. Transparency is one of the most important values in this regard: the entire team has insight into the P&L and actively contributes ideas about strategy and direction. It doesn’t stop at just thinking: micromanagement is out of the question here: everyone has the confidence and mandate to make their own decisions.
