Nederlandse Loterij is the largest gaming provider in the Netherlands and the driving force behind ten well-known brands: Staatsloterij, Lotto, Eurojackpot, Miljoenenspel, Lucky Day, Krasloten, TOTO Winkel, TOTO Casino, TOTO Sport, and Winnitt. The organization was created in 2016 from the merger of Staatsloterij and Lotto. Since then, players have had the chance to win attractive cash prizes every day. In 2024, participants won a total of no less than 5.4 billion euros, including gambling tax. But Nederlandse Loterij also gives a lot back. Every year, a large part of the proceeds goes to Dutch society, sports, and nearly twenty selected charities. In 2024, this amounted to a record €203.6 million. Together with the KNVB and various soccer clubs, the ‘Rugdekking’ initiative was set up to stimulate discussion about the risks of sports betting and raise awareness.
