About KLM
KLM is one of the largest Dutch companies and needs no further introduction. Since its foundation in 1919, the company has undergone many transitions, including the merger with Air France in 2004. Whatever changed, the name remained the same: KLM is the oldest airline in the world that has been flying under the same name since its foundation. Today, KLM has ambitious sustainability goals – the company strives for sustainable aviation and wants to (continue to) lead the way in this transition. One of the projects with which KLM wants to make a difference is the development of the aircraft of the future. Together with TU Delft, KLM is working on the Flying-V, a highly energy-efficient aircraft that can cover long distances.
Diversity and inclusion
KLM employs people from 74 different countries. This is indicative of the company’s inclusive culture, in which diversity is a priority. Employees are encouraged to be themselves, “regardless of what is written in their passport, what they believe or who they embrace when they return home”. The motto is: “You are who you are, it’s what you bring that counts”.
Working at KLM
KLM is a company where people stay for the long term, both in the air and on the ground. Many employees remain proud members of the KLM family until they retire. KLM’s head office is located in Amstelveen, and the company has more than 31,000 employees in the Netherlands. Within the organisation, there are plenty of opportunities for personal development and career advancement.
