About Keesing Media Group
Keesing Media Group has been providing puzzle fun to people all over the world for more than a century. Since its founding in 1911, the originally Dutch company has grown into an international network with fourteen offices in twelve countries, employing more than 950 people. Its broad portfolio is continuously expanding, ranging from classic paper-based crosswords and sudoku to interactive digital games. Braintainment lies at the heart of every product: puzzles where enjoyment and mental challenge go together.
Organic and Inorganic Growth
Keesing is expanding internationally through a mix of in-house development and targeted acquisitions. Its acquisition by Ergon Capital and Mediahuis in 2017 laid the foundation for an active buy-and-build strategy, enabling entry into new markets and further expansion of the puzzle portfolio. In 2021, private equity investor BC Funds acquired Keesing, after which the acquisition strategy was continued.
In recent years, Keesing has acquired several puzzle publishers and invested heavily in digital partners, further broadening both its reach and its offering. Well-known brands such as Denksport, De Puzzelaar, Kappa Publishing, and Megastar operate under the Keesing umbrella, complemented by digital players including CoolGames and Elevate Labs.
