Waterland Private Equity
The EQOM Group was formed in 2020 after erotic industry giant EDC Retail, the European market leader and known among other things for EasyToys, merged with wholesaler Eropartner Distribution. The latter supplies many products to countries including Germany and Scandinavia. With the support of private equity firm Waterland, the Dutch brand Christine le Duc, the Norwegian brands Kondomeriet and Nytelse, and the German brand Amorelie were added to the portfolio in 2021. In the years that followed, the company expanded with brands from, among others, the United Kingdom, Poland, Italy, Spain, and France.
Working at EQOM
EQOM’s headquarters is located in Veendam, in the north of the Netherlands. Around 230 employees work here, all proud to be part of the company. The working atmosphere is open and informal: people – often in sneakers and jeans – easily drop by each other’s desks for advice or help. There is a strong sense of community and genuine team spirit. Alongside hard work, there is plenty of focus on fun and vitality, preferably a combination of both. Employees take a lunch walk every day, have access to the in-house gym, join company boot camp sessions, and run the Dam to Dam race together as a team each year. On Friday afternoons, the in-house bar is the place to kick off the weekend.
