About DEJONG
Founded in 1859, DEJONG has been Europe’s leading independent manufacturer of stainless steels for decades. Anno 2024, these boilers play a major role in sustainability: for example, they are used for heat pumps. The company, with 220 employees and an office and factory in Gorredijk (Friesland), produces more than 180,000 tanks annually – ranging in capacity from five to one thousand liters. The tanks are sold, often under private label, to OEMs and sometimes to distributors, who in turn sell them to end customers.
Fast growth
In 2023, the U.S. market leader in water heating, Rheem Manufacturing Company, acquired DEJONG. Rheem sells products in more than 80 countries, opening up the global market for DEJONG as well. Together, Rheem and DEJONG plan to invest in production capacity, with a new plant in Slovakia scheduled for completion in 2026. This plant will produce large-scale homogeneous bulk orders, while the production facility in Gorredijk will focus on custom and specialized products. This exciting new phase obviously has a goal: exponential growth. DEJONG’s turnover, which currently stands at sixty million euros, must be increased at least tenfold over the next five years.
