Vacancy: Sales Director – Nordics
The Nordic region represents significant untapped potential for the client. Known for its highly developed health systems that prioritize quality, innovation, andsustainability, the area is a strategic growth focus. The Sales Director Nordics will lead the regional expansion across Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, shaping the commercial footprint in alignment with the company’s global objectives.
Reporting to the General Manager UK & Ireland and leading a team of 10 direct reports, the Sales Director Nordics is responsible for the sales performance of the region and the development and implementation of a successful sales strategy. Market-specific strategies will be tailored in alignment with the company’s overall sales and business objectives and respect the unique healthcare systems in each of the three countries. This requires knowledge of the healthcare landscape in the individual markets as well as the local healthcare regulations. The Sales Director sets performance targets, monitors their achievement and successfully manages and mentors his motivated team to ensure the company’s ambitious sales goals are met.
The products are sold via a large network of distribution partners that include hospitals, clinics, and specialized retailers. Therefore, tenders play a crucial role. The Sales Director Nordics has profound experience with tender management and can successfully navigate both internal and external processes and stakeholders, including preparing competitive bids, ensuring compliance with regulations, and cultivating relationships with customer procurement teams. They successfully handle high-value negotiations with clients and secure contracts that result in strong, long-term partnerships with healthcare providers and retailers.
The Sales Director plays a pivotal role in expanding the company’s reach by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with potential distribution partners, while simultaneously reinforcing its presence within established networks. They develop a successful sales strategy, diligently monitor and report on regional sales performance, market dynamics, and progress toward targets and provide mentorship and guidance to the team of account managers, fostering their growth and development sales skills. Additionally, the role involves close collaboration with the headquarters in Germany, other regional teams, and key stakeholders to exchange best practices and ensure alignment across initiatives. Frequent travel within the Nordics region for customer visits as well as across Europe is an essential aspect of this position.
