Über Amoena

Amoena has specialized in breast care since the 1970s. The company’s founder Cornelius Rechenberg had a clear vision: to improve the care for women with breast cancer and after a mastectomy. Amoena developed and patented the first silicone breast prosthesis in 1984, and has continued to design new technology to serve (former) breast cancer patients to this day.

Amoena strives to have a deep understanding of the needs within the target group. This has been the key to Amoena’s success: they are the global market leader in this segment. The company, based in Germany, has around 400 employees worldwide. Half of them are based at headquarters and in the production team. The Nordics region holds significant potential for Amoena, as the healthcare systems are well-developed and emphasize quality care, innovation and sustainability. The Sales Director Nordics plays a crucial role in driving Amoena’s business growth and ensuring future market penetration across Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Reporting to the General Manager UK & Ireland and leading a team of 10 direct reports, the Sales Director Nordics is responsible for the sales performance of the region and the development and implementation of a successful sales strategy. Market-specific strategies will be tailored in alignment with the company’s overall sales and business objectives and respect the unique healthcare systems in each of the three countries. This requires knowledge of the healthcare landscape in the individual markets as well as the local healthcare regulations. The Sales Director sets performance targets, monitors their achievement and successfully manages and mentors his motivated team to ensure Amoena’s ambitious sales goals are met.

Amoena products are sold via a large network of distribution partners that include hospitals, clinics, and specialized retailers. Therefore, tenders play a crucial role. The Sales Director Nordics has profound experience with tender management and can successfully navigate both internal and external processes and stakeholders, including preparing competitive bids, ensuring compliance with regulations, and cultivating relationships with customer procurement teams. They successfully handle high-value negotiations with clients and secure contracts that result in strong, long-term partnerships with healthcare providers and retailers. The Sales Director plays a pivotal role in expanding Amoena’s reach by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with potential distribution partners, while simultaneously reinforcing the company’s presence within established networks. They diligently monitor and report on regional sales performance,
market dynamics, and progress toward targets. Additionally, the role involves close collaboration with Amoena’s headquarters in Germany, other regional teams, and key stakeholders to exchange best practices and ensure alignment across initiatives. Frequent travel within the Nordics region and across Europe is an essential aspect of this position.
