About NOWOS
Professional lithium-ion battery repair barely existed when Prins Doornekamp founded NOWOS in 2019. Doornekamp, who previously built and sold battery manufacturer Super B, teamed up with Jan Bartels, a veteran of battery regulation and recycling, and together they developed the processes, tooling, and safety standards to do it right.
Regulation has since caught up. The EU Battery Regulation and the European right to repair are turning battery circularity from a voluntary sustainability effort into a compliance requirement for manufacturers, and the physical infrastructure built today will define the market for decades.
Today, teams in the Netherlands and France repair and maintain batteries for e-bikes, scooters, forklifts, and energy storage systems, with Poland lined up as the next hub. NOWOS leads the European ride-share market, serving more than half of it for brands such as Swapfiets, Dott, and Voi, and demand from new verticals keeps widening the field. The culture matches an operational company. Repair is skilled work at industrial volume, and the technicians who do it decide how that work gets organized day to day.

NOWOS is ready to grow from a proven market leader into a pan-European platform. The incoming CEO takes full ownership of strategy, the P&L, and the commercial agenda, steering revenue growth.
That growth is there for the taking. Market demand is strong, and NOWOS holds a clear edge in technology and product. Converting that position into recurring enterprise revenue means setting market focus and pricing for the years ahead, then scaling the commercial team to match. The CEO opens doors personally at C-level with OEMs and fleet owners, working alongside a commercial director who drives day-to-day market development.
Scaling at that pace needs capital, and bringing it in falls to the CEO: shaping the investment narrative, running the roadshows, and taking NOWOS through the Series B. The CEO structures both the organization and the commercial story for the next ownership phase, and works with an engaged board and an international investor group that follow the business closely and act as a sounding board on strategy and execution.
The CEO decides the strategic route per geography and leads execution, with entry into new markets. Internally, this leader builds the organization that carries it all: completing the leadership bench and embedding the structure and focus that keep a fast-growing, multi-country business on course.
The industry is only just leaving its pioneer phase, with rules partly written inside NOWOS's own workshops. Its real scale is still ahead of it, and the position to build from is already won. Every battery repaired is a battery not manufactured. The role suits a decisive CEO with affinity for an impactful circular business and a genuine eye for culture, people, and above all the customer. Deep battery expertise matters less, since that knowledge already runs strong in the team. What counts is grasping the battery repair and reuse market quickly, and turning that understanding into commercial momentum.
