Atida is a leading digital scale-up in the pharmaceutical industry. Their mission is to set the bar for what it means to be an online pharmacy by being a true partner for people on their journey towards good health. As they are scaling up their business rapidly, they are investing in a new position at their international headquarters: Business Finance Manager.
About Atida
The rise of the ‘quantified self’ started long before the pandemic. More and more individuals are actively taking charge of their own wellbeing with knowledge, data-driven tools, tracking devices, and health apps. The phenomenon includes both preventive and curative initiatives. COVID-19 is fuel to the fire of this trend. In a bid to avoid catching a common cold, let alone something worse, people have become a lot more serious about their own physical and mental health. The demand for self-care and optimized wellbeing will only continue to grow.
Atida is a private-equity-backed scale-up that rides the wave of this development. Their ambition is to move wellbeing from a strictly curative and reactive approach to one that is personalized, proactive, and preventive. Their unique business model brings data and e-commerce into the pharmaceutical and wellbeing industry.
They are creating solutions such as Atida Pure, combining expert consultation and precise measurements to establish individually tailored supplement programs. Depending on the individual consumer, the program may focus on skin and hair, the immune system, bone strength, or pregnancy – to name just a few examples. This year, Atida is also launching its online pharmacy, Atida Plus, in Europe.
“Atida is online, backed by science, personalized and taking the European market by storm.” – Anzhelika Belova, CFO
Atida is backed by the London-based healthcare investor MARCOL. The scale-up is the result of the acquisition of seven online pharmacies in Germany, Spain, and Portugal over the past fifteen years. The company has around 600 employees of which five percent work from the Amsterdam-based headquarters.
Vacancy: Business Finance Manager
As Atida is expanding and innovating its European business rapidly, they are hiring a driven Business Finance Manager to join the international finance team in Amsterdam. It is a key role in the business, supporting the international CFO as well as local CFOs and local CEOs with a range of business challenges. It is a commercial finance role, combining analytical rigor with executive power.
Considering the scale-up nature of the business, it is essential for the Business Finance Manager to be able to work effectively and autonomously while driving projects and process improvements. Projects range from business cases for new programs, post-implementation ROI-analysis, and product margin enhancement to consolidation, reporting, budgeting, optimizing the use of BI and other tools within the finance function, and supporting M&A processes.
“Getting your facts right is a hygiene factor. What this role is really all about, is impact.” – Anzhelika Belova, CFO
Analytical rigor, financial and business acumen, and problem-solving skills alone will not get the job done. To achieve results quickly, candidates will need to be able to adapt quickly in a new, agile, and fast-paced working environment, feel ownership, manage a range of priorities simultaneously, and build strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
