The Project Developer will help drive the development to pre-FEED, coordinating stakeholders and shaping a project that will redefine Spain’s clean-energy landscape.

ErasmoPower2X is Spanish company, backed by Power2X and Ekhi. The company is realizing a giga-scale integrated energy project in Castilla-La Mancha, combining a 1.2-gigawatt solar plant with a green hydrogen and e-methanol facility. ErasmoPower2X operates with «patient capital,» committed to owning and operating these assets for the long term.

The project is ambitious: a two-billion-euro investment designed to produce green molecules for the Spanish heavy industry and European markets, significantly reducing CO2 emissions. With the groundwork completed and the first off-take agreements securing over 100 percent of hydrogen production, the project is now entering a critical execution phase. The initiative has already been included in the 2025-2030 grid planning, signalling strong government support.

Based in Madrid, the team operates with a flat, agile structure. While currently a compact unit of highly experienced, hands-on professionals, the organization will continue scaling in parallel with the project’s development and construction phases. Vacancy: Project Developer

The ErasmoPower2X project is approaching a pivotal milestone: the submission of the Integrated Environmental Impact Assessment and Administrative Authorization (EIA-AFP) and grid access & connection procedures. The Project Developer takes immediate ownership of this critical workstream, navigating the complex Spanish regulatory landscape to ensure the project advances toward the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase by the end of 2026.

This role centres on the development of the 1.2 GW solar photovoltaic component, which powers the green hydrogen production. They will lead all aspects related to land agreements, planning permissions, and grid connections. They act as the primary driver for the permitting process, interacting directly with the Ministry, regional authorities, and landowners. The Project Developer operates with a high degree of autonomy, managing external technical advisors, engineering contractors, and land agents to deliver results on time and within budget.

While the core requirement is deep expertise in Spanish solar development, the strategic scope is much broader. They will bridge the gap between renewables development (including battery to facilitate services to the grid) and the broader green molecule strategy. This position offers a rare opportunity for a renewables development specialist to upskill into the hydrogen and methanol sectors, working closely with technical experts. The Project Developer ensures that the solar development aligns perfectly with the requirements of the integrated chemical plant, adding a layer of technical complexity and professional growth rarely found in pure-play renewable developers.

Self-driven problem-solver with robust management capabilities
Reporting directly to the Project Development Director, the Project Developer plays a central role in a compact, high-calibre team. The environment is entrepreneurial and fast-paced; decisions are made quickly, and the Project Developer is expected to solve problems independently. As the project moves toward the Final Investment Decision (FID) in 2027/2028, the scope of the role will expand, potentially involving the management of a larger team during the construction phase.

The ideal candidate is an engineer with a solid track record in the Spanish solar sector, specifically regarding integrated EIA/APP permitting, water concession, engagement with landowners and relevant authorities like Miteco, REE and Enagas. They bring experience from mid-sized or large developers and understand the nuances of the local regulatory framework. Since the role involves frequent coordination with international stakeholders, a good command of English is necessary, though fluency is not required.
