Jobe Sports has built a design-led watersports brand reaching over seventy countries, with fans ranging from recreational users to the crews of the world’s largest superyachts. Supported by Alliance Marine Group, the brand has real momentum, calling for a Head of Finance who owns the numbers end to end and serves as a strategic partner to the CEO.
About Jobe Sports
Jobe has been getting people onto the water since 1974. Every product is designed in-house, built to perform on a quiet lake as much as strapped to the back of a speedboat on the sea. The company sells directly through its own dealers in the Benelux, Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Italy, and the United Kingdom, and through distributors across the rest of the world. For all that reach, Jobe has held on to the informal feel of a family business, with around forty-five colleagues working closely together at the head office in Heerewaarden.
Under CEO Gerard van der Krogt, the business turns a healthy profit, with revenue around twenty million euros and roughly a million in EBITDA. Jobe is part of Alliance Marine Group which consists of around twenty maritime companies, backed by private-equity investor LBO France. Beyond financial stability, the group has a specialist dedicated to Jobe full-time, giving the finance team expert support to draw on.
Growth now comes from several directions at once. Electric products are the fastest-moving part of the range, with sea scooters leading the way and demand for e-foils and wakefoils growing rapidly. Moreover, Jobe is expanding its dealer-direct model into new European markets, moving with the industry-wide shift from owning to renting, and building a foothold in the high-end superyacht segment, where a single order can run to tens of thousands of euros. Sustainability runs through all of it, from a partnership with the Dutch CleanUp Tour to the goal of a five-year warranty on every product by 2030 and a first product made from recycled material in 2029.
Vacancy: Head of Finance
The ERP and Power BI are in place, the day-to-day runs smoothly, and the Head of Finance can focus on leading finance and taking it further. Reporting directly to CEO Gerard van der Krogt and sitting on the management team, this is the most senior finance role at Jobe, in an organization that is deliberately flat and keeps its lines short.
In the first phase, that means owning the monthly close and the integrity of the numbers across Jobe’s five Dutch entities, from statutory accounts and VAT to cash management, accruals, and the payroll for roughly fifty people. The Head of Finance leads a small team, a General Ledger Accountant and an Accounts Receivable Specialist, and is hands-on enough to step in where needed while still setting clear priorities. The aim is a finance function that is solid and dependable, month after month.
Once that foundation is secure, the role opens up. With the numbers secure, the Head of Finance can deepen the reporting and analysis that turn solid data into the insight Jobe needs to keep its momentum and take the lead on simplifying the current entity structure toward two companies. The dedicated Jobe adviser within Alliance Marine Group is a close partner in this, carrying much of the margin and performance analysis, which lets the Head of Finance step up as a genuine sparring partner to the CEO and the group. Beyond the numbers, the Head of Finance builds a finance team with strong capabilities and real team spirit.
