Ranpak is a market leading producer of sustainable, paperbased packaging and automation solutions. The Commercial Director will lead the company’s Protective Packaging Solutions sales strategy, focusing on retaining and acquiring new business, expanding revenue streams, and driving growth of the company’s new Cold Chain solutions across the EMEA region.

In recent years the company has seen increased competition in the in-thebox protection segment as the global demand for sustainable packaging continues to increase. Ranpak is currently embarking on an important transition to a more commercial business strategy to maintain market leadership in PPS and expand their business in the Cold Chain packaging and Automation solutions sectors.

Vacancy: Commercial Director

The Commercial Director will take charge of Ranpak’s EMEA PPS sales strategy and expand the company’s current revenue streams within this sector, driving growth through upselling, cross-selling, and acquisitions. They will elevate the current PPS business through the development and implementation of creative, results-driven sales strategies, especially focusing on increasing sales of the company’s the Cold Chain packaging solutions.

They will defend the current customer portfolio from competitors, developing strong relationships with existing accounts to understand challenges and seek revenue growth opportunities with each client. Proactively pursuing new business opportunities, they will identify and approach prospects and invest in building relationships with potential customers. The Commercial Director will gain detailed knowledge about each client and deliver engaging customercentric proposals.

Reporting to the Managing Director EMEA, the Director will contribute to the company’s future business strategy as a valued member of the leadership team. They will directly manage five General Sales Managers who lead a team of 60 (key) account managers across Europe. Working closely with the recently hired Product Marketing & Management leader, the Commercial Director will also contribute to the improvement of the customer value proposition.

Together they will continuously assess the product/market fit and problem/solution fit, as well as drive the product innovation roadmap. They will closely collaborate with the marketing, PR and digital teams to guard alignment of the sales strategies with marketing activation efforts.

Ranpak is on an important journey to grow their business and make a positive impact on the planet. The company’s EMEA headquarters is located in Eygelshoven, The Netherlands where the Commercial Director will also be based. The role includes occasional travel within the EMEA region to visit clients and the various sales teams.
