Due to the digitization of BMS’ business, providing IT security assurance is an essential part of their current and future growth.

Job description: IT Security Specialist

The IT Security Specialist will cover all aspects of end-to-end IT Security, both technical and non-technical, in a very agile team. They will be the driving force for the end-to-end cybersecurity solutions and support within BMS, from firewalls and endpoint security to increasing the security literacy, to collaborating with business teams on tenders. This means they will be providing value to the backbone of the company, but also to the commercial frontline and even directly to the end-customers enjoying their leased bikes.

This role encompasses being in the lead on security during the Security & Privacy Intakes for new digital initiatives within BMS and providing answers to the business on more complex IT security questions. The IT Security Specialist will be the IT security ambassador within BMS who proactively advocates the importance of security, awareness, and improvements. As such, they will also travel between offices on a regular basis. The offices are located in The Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Austria, Belgium and the US.

The IT Security Specialist will be part of BMS’ Digital team and work closely with the responsible IT security persons of Pon.BIKE. They will report hierarchically to the Digital Director of IT at BMS, and functionally to the IT Security Manager at Pon.BIKE from the Global Pon Security & Privacy Office. This means that there is direct access to all of the highly advanced technology & tools that are used within Pon.

The most important challenge for this role in the next one to two years will be upgrading several key aspects of IT security for BMS. Next to that, the IT Security Specialist will work on the continuous improvement, documenting and providing proof of the work being done on security to get an assurance report (like SOC2).

The IT Security Specialist should have a solid background in IT Security and be able to support (hands on) on the implementation of the required security solutions and measures. They should also have an overview and understanding of what’s going on at all levels, to be able to communicate strategically about it across the board.
