The new Finance Director for EMEA takes the organization to the next level by leading the central and local finance teams (100fte), realizing best practices, and implementing strategic improvement projects.

ABOUT WAVIN

Wavin provides plastic piping systems for a wide range of residential and non-residential purposes. Wavin’s systems, solutions, and services are essential to the needs of everyday life, such as a safe supply of clean water and gas, control of wastewater and stormwater, energy efficient heating and cooling of buildings and the availability of electricity and telecom.

In 2012, Wavin became part of the Mexichem conglomerate, the world leader in piping systems and active in the chemicals sector. Over the past 15 years, Mexichem has shown extraordinary growth, with sales increasing from 250 million dollars to approximately 7.5 billion dollars. The driving force behind this expansion is a series of 26 successful acquisitions (including Wavin). These acquisitions strengthened Mexichem’s presence in key regions and added knowledge, skills and proprietary technology.

THE VACANCY: FINANCE DIRECTOR EMEA

The Finance Director EMEA is part of Building & Infrastructure, Mexichem’s largest Business Group. The role is much broader than just finance. He/she implements strategic improvement projects, supports, and coordinates acquisition processes, stimulates process improvements, is a key partner for the business and manages a large international team of financial experts.

COACHING AND LEADERSHIP

The Finance Director manages the financial organization in the eight EMEA territories of the Building & Infrastructure Business Group, amounting to approximately 100 FTEs. Together they cover a large part of Europe and the Middle East. The contact between the territories has become increasingly close in recent years. The Finance Director has taken the next step in this direction. He/she ensures even more alignment and standardization, ensures implementation of best practices and innovative ideas and operational excellence in his finance column. The Finance Director coaches and directs the Territory Finance Heads to proactively initiate projects focused on international improvement.

Besides being a leader and coach for the local finance organizations, the Finance Director also directs the central team of Business and Operational Controlling within EMEA. They focus on monitoring and advising the business on Commercial, Supply Chain and Production Performance. The Finance Director coaches them in preparing the right information: sharp, to-the-point, action-oriented and anticipating the future.

BUSINESS PARTNER

The Finance Director acts as a sparring partner for the Managing Director Building & Infrastructure EMEA. He/she supports the Vice President, Finance Building & Infrastructure and the business in implementing large, strategic change projects. To this end, the Finance Director works together closely with Legal, Sales, Operations, HR, IT and Procurement. He/she mainly works from Zwolle, but will also visit the local companies on a regular basis.

• 10+ years in a senior financial position
• Experience in an international B2B manufacturing environment
• Experience with processes of transformation and managing large teams
• RC/RA certified
