McDonald’s is invariably in the lists of strongest brands in the world, including at the top of The World’s Most Valuable Brands list. McDonald’s is still firmly on the branding road and regularly wins advertising awards in the Netherlands. With over 37,000 restaurants in more than 120 countries, McDonald’s is the largest restaurant chain in the world. Classics like the Big Mac, McFlurry and Happy Meal are on the menu everywhere, but McDonald’s also focuses on local tastes and preferences. In the Netherlands, the McKroket is a good example of this. The guest is at the centre of everything, which is why the chain also responds to current food trends. For instance, luxury gourmet burgers and veggie burgers are on the menu and the brand offers all kinds of coffee specialities with McCafé. Last but not least, sustainability is very important to McDonald’s.
