About Jobe Sports
Jobe Sports is a household name in the world of water sports. Both recreational sailors and the crews of the world’s largest superyachts are fans of the brand’s clothing, kayaks, sea scooters and numerous other products, all of which are designed in-house. Through an extensive network of distributors and its own dealers in the Benelux, Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Italy and the UK, the products find their way to more than seventy countries. The company’s origins lie with the American water-skier Jeff Jobe, who began developing plastic skis in 1974. In 2008, two Dutch water sports enthusiasts took over the company from him permanently.
Sustainable growth ambitions
Since April 2022, Jobe has been part of Alliance Marine Group, a group of twenty maritime companies, backed by the French private equity investor LBO France. Jobe is a healthy business: a turnover of around twenty million euros, a strong EBITDA and a proactive private equity investor offer plenty of opportunities for further growth. The market is moving in the right direction. Electric products are the fastest-growing category: sea scooters are popular, as are e-foils and wakefoils. At the same time, Jobe is expanding its dealer-direct model into new European markets and capitalising on the shift from ownership to rental. Jobe is pursuing this growth responsibly, with concrete sustainability ambitions. The brand has entered into a partnership with the Dutch CleanUp Tour and aims to launch its first product made from recycled materials by 2029.
Working at Jobe
The company has deliberately maintained the family culture in which Jobe grew up. Even after joining the Alliance Marine Group and now as one of the world’s largest water sports brands, there is still a warm and supportive atmosphere. At the head office in Heerewaarden, Gelderland, 45 colleagues work closely together, driven by seven core values: fun, accessible, innovative, enthusiastic, young, excellent and international. These core values form the basis of the so-called Jobe Brand Code, which has been embraced and promoted by staff for ten years.
