About Basetime
Basetime was founded in Utrecht in 2021 as a spin-out that combines geodetic expertise with IoT engineering to provide autonomous measuring equipment and data processing to the construction and infrastructure sectors. For a long time, measuring movements in infrastructure was done manually and at fixed intervals, with individual measurements to check whether an object was still moving within safe limits. Basetime fully automates this process and provides real-time monitoring with sub-centimetre accuracy. The mission is clear: to develop reliable technology that contributes to safe and sustainable living and working environments.
Proven technology
Basetime’s strength lies in the combination of GNSS, smart sensors and its proprietary Parvamoti platform, which enables customers to validate and adjust data independently. The company has two core products: Locator One is used for pocket beacons, tunnels, bridges, landslides and water level monitoring. Locator Two is designed for the continuous monitoring of critical infrastructure such as railways, quay walls and bridges. There are now 4,000 devices in use with over 100 clients, including Ballast Nedam, Boskalis, Van Oord, Rijkswaterstaat and the Port of Rotterdam, spread across some 20 countries. Backed by investors Value Creation Capital and ROM Utrecht, the scale-up is focusing on further international growth, particularly in Europe and North America.
Working at Baseline
Baseline is an innovative and dynamic scale-up, with projects that bring together the latest technologies. In a team of fourteen people, everyone is involved in both product development and client relations. There is plenty of scope for personal development and opportunities for career progression. Employees are generally well-versed in both geodesy and IoT, and enjoy working at the intersection of these two fields. The international growth phase Basetime is currently in is particularly appealing: vacancies at this scale-up rarely remain open for long.
