AniCura
AniCura was established in 2011 as the first merger of companion animal hospitals in the Nordic region, giving them a competitive edge due to shared resources. AniCura is consolidating the veterinary market rapidly, but with a strong focus on the top segment. Only clinics offering the highest quality of care, specialist competence and service levels can join AniCura. This attitude towards acquisitions has also enabled industry-leading organic growth.
Growth drivers
Through both acquisitions and organic growth, Anicura has developed very quickly and now provides high-quality pet care at 200 locations in seven countries and employs more than 4,000 people. The AniCura network offers a wide range of products and medical services, covering carefully selected pet food, preventive and basic health care as well as advanced diagnostics, internal medicine, intensive care, surgery, orthopedics, rehabilitation, physiotherapy and dietary advice. For the coming years, they have identified a number of strategic growth drivers:
- Number of customers per clinic
- Spend per existing customer
- Creation of new business areas, such as VetFamily and AniPlan
The Dutch market
As a valued partner for pet owners and referring veterinarians throughout Europe, AniCura entered the Dutch market in 2015. Today, there are 40 AniCura-owned clinics, 45 franchises and 41 VetFamily partner clinics in The Netherlands. With a whopping thousand veterinarian practices and recent growth of the pet industry in The Netherlands, the Dutch market is of strategic importance for AniCura. To capture the full potential of this market, they are hiring a Country Manager Netherlands to roll out and develop the VetFamily business for partner clinics.
